Position: Assayer Laboratory Technician

Working as part of a team, this is an important role to assist in the search, development, production and preparation of an approved mining/site project. The work includes the basic role of the camp on the AMAT mine website and the work schedule set on 6/7. You will spend most of your time analyzing the sample. In the laboratory, you will stand for a large number of your changes and you must follow strict safety regulations because of the dangerous devices that are sometimes used. As Assayer, you may be forced to work under pressure to provide results immediately to support the efforts of mine workers to increase the output. You will be responsible for the preparation of samples from receiving to drilling involving different laboratory procedures. You will be comfortable to work safely in handling acid and garlic.
Key Responsibilities:
• Receive and place all samples brought into LA.
• Examine, bridge, sample, test or upgrade RAW equipment and process, analyzing of substances such as metals, non -metallic minerals, focus, waste and air samples.
• Use interesting analysis, chemical solutions, special materials.
• Adjusting analytical methods.
• Receive samples of raw materials and processed from mine or mill.
• Pre -investigating equipment and advice of managers or colleagues of issues or maintenance concerns.
• Maintain and check analytical equipment.
• Make sure the workplaces are and the equipment is stored and organized.
• Full examination / test reports.
• Support in environmental inspections and the development of waste management and related environmental protection procedures.
• Receive and place all the samples brought to the laboratory.
Requirements:
• Education Background: Minimum three (3) years Chemical Technologist Diploma.
Experience:
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in mining environment Assay Lab or laboratory environment or in minerals processing.
• Knowledge of sample preparation and fire assay procedures.
• Experience with atomic absorption spectrometer.
• Proficiency in computer incl. Microsoft Office
